Paint Holiday Ornaments @ Piccadilly Circus!

Join us at Piccadilly Circus for a fun night painting classic holiday ornaments! You’ll enjoy a fun night at Piccadilly painting four classic custom ceramic ornaments - a snowman, a Christmas tree, a classic 3” ball ornament, and a Santa mug perfect for a hot toddy or hot chocolate. Glass & Stone staff will be on hand to show you how to paint your ornaments, then they’ll whisk your finished creations off to the studio for a final firing.

Your finished ornaments will be ready for pickup on Wednesday, December 18th, ready to hang on the tree or be the perfect unique gift. See you there!

Paint Your Own Classic Holiday Ornaments at Goose Ridge!

Let's get into the holiday spirit! Join Matt Beland from Glass & Stone Pottery Studio for a fun night of glazing Classic Christmas Ornaments.

We will provide you with 3 ceramic Christmas Ornaments to glaze with your own creative flare. Decorate these ornaments to hang on your own tree or to give as a personalized gift to family or friends. Matt will show you the basics and provide all the tools you will need. After you are finished decorating your ornaments, Matt will finish the process by firing it in his kiln one last time. They will be ready for pick up at Goose Ridge approximately two weeks after our workshop. Please wear appropriate clothing or bring an apron to protect your clothing. Your first glass of wine, pint of cider, or cocktail is included with your ticket. Grab a friend or two and make a night of it!

Hand building- Spooky Candle Holder

In this family friendly workshop every participant will be provided with some clay slab, Halloween shaped cutters, underglaze, transfers and everything you'll need to make a candle holder. Along with a step by step tutorial from our wonderful host on how to build and decorate your piece from start to finish. After the class your work will be carefully kiln fired, dipped in a clear protective glaze, and fired again before it's ready for pickup, keeping your wonderful work looking great for years to come.

Hand building- Haunted House!

Description: 

In this workshop participants will be guided through a two hour process to hand build a Giant Mushroom Lidded Canister. The final product will be approximately 15 inches tall with the cap of the mushroom functioning as a removable lid. Each participant will be provided with about eight pounds of house blend clay. The instructor will demonstrate how to utilize spring mold forms and hand building techniques to create the body of the mushroom/canister and the mushroom cap/lid. The hand building portion of the workshop will last approximately forty five minutes. The remaining hour and fifteen minutes of the workshop will be for underglaze application, texturizing, and clean up.

Holiday Tree Vase

At our Holiday Tree Vase workshop participants will be guided through a four hour hand build process to create a ceramic vase display for holiday charms or family heirloom trinkets. Each participant will be provided with about nine pounds of WMP / white stoneware, in prepared slabs. The instructor will demonstrate how to use spring mold forms to create the overall shape, which will take about 30-45 minutes. The instructor will show how to create openings up the side of the “tree” in order to provide space for found small branches to be placed. Instruction and guidance on hand-sculpting and  texturing will take approximately two to two and a half hours. Instruction and guidance on underglaze application will take approximately one hour. The end product will function as a vase as well as a mixed media holiday tree.

Paint and Sip - Pumpkin Patch

At this workshop each participant will be invited to choose a hand thrown, artisan crafted, pumpkin from a mini pumpkin patch. These pumpkins will be bisqued, which means they are ready for your own bit of whimsy. You will be provided with transfers, underglaze, brushes, and various tools ensuring that your pumpkin is ready to decorate for the season. There will be hot cider included during this workshop, adding a bit of inspiration and warmth. Come join us while we get into the spirit of the holiday season!

Beer Tankard Class at Sound 2 Summit Brewery

You and your favorite brew deserve a vessel to match. During this workshop each student will be provided a hand thrown ceramic beer tankard, underglaze, brushes, transfers, and various tools. While you sip on your drink of choice, a Glass & Stone Pottery staff member will guide you through properly underglazing your tankard in order for it to truly represent your personality.

Afterwards, a professional artist will apply a clear protective glaze coating, and put your piece through a final kiln firing. After this process your piece will be microwave, oven, dishwasher, and food safe. You will be able to enjoy brews in your tankard for years to come!

Come learn how to use plate forms to make beautiful ceramic dinnerware! We will discuss the different techniques possible to make plates, different color choices, plus other handy tips & tricks to making a lasting set of plates. Each participant will get 1 hour of time, which will include about 30 minutes of one on one instruction, 8lbs of clay, and your choice of plate forms.
